Building Relationships

Relationships are the key to our business. Not only is it essential to have close working partnerships with our clients, but also with the carrier and vendor representatives we work with as well as the larger business community, including industry leaders and the government. We are all stakeholders with a vested interest in managing costs while improving the access, affordability, and quality of benefits programs.

Client Relationships

Our goal is for our clients to see us as a part of their HR and Finance teams. We meet regularly throughout the year on a “non-urgent” basis to outline and execute a proactive strategy for ongoing servicing, compliance, and renewal planning. We utilize technology to make our meetings and the delivery of information more efficient. For example, we use on-demand online meeting software to allow us to meet with our clients in a virtual, real-time environment from anywhere at anytime; we use IPads to deliver presentations when appropriate; and we use our website or thumb drives to deliver information electronically and make it easily accessible.

We want our clients to be able to access us and our services when they need to in the ways that are most convenient to them.

Carrier Relationships

In the 12 years Longfellow has been in business, we have established trusting relationships with our carrier representatives by treating them with respect and expecting them to meet our high standards for service and partnership. Our average employee tenure is over 5 years, and as such our carrier relationships are longstanding and time-tested. We expect our carrier representatives to assist us in advocating for our clients and the needs of their employees, while ensuring compliance and offering education on an issue when appropriate.

Our carrier representatives know that they are expected to react quickly and respond thoroughly to requests from Longfellow, including employee claims issues and employer concerns. They know what to expect from us and what we expect from them. They trust that we will always act with integrity when it comes to the bidding and negotiation process, and that ultimately we act first and foremost in the best interests of our clients.
