Medical Security Program - For residents who are receiving unemployment benefits. Pays up to 80 percent of a laid-off worker's COBRA monthly insurance premium. Income eligibility: less than roughly $84,800 for a family of four. 1-800-908-8801. www.mass.gove/dua/msp
Commonwealth Choice - For adults who don't qualify for subsidies, there are name brand insurance plans with prices and benefits negotiated by the state that can be cheaper than COBRA. No income eligibility limits. 1-877-623-6765 www.mahealthconnector.org
